Red Mage Reviews

Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. Two games that are easily my favorite games of this generation, and may even have a spot in my top ten. They’re frustrating, yet satisfying. The aesthetic and atmosphere are fantastic, the artwork and music is phenomenal, and the story is subtle. Many people complain about games not taking their audience seriously enough and not thinking their audience intelligent, but Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls are anything but that.

Both games are very easy to make mistakes in- mistakes that can haunt you for the rest of the story. Accidentally hit that important black smith? Hope you didn’t need weapons upgraded. There are subtle quest lines that can easily be missed, and it is so rewarding to find them. Even more rewarding when you don’t die in the process.

So with that in mind, Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls, two of the only games I’ve bothered to get Platinum Trophies in, are what I’m going to tackle first- in a ghetto let’s play of sorts. So the only question NOW is which do I tackle first?
